What if the seller blocks me after I pay?
They can't touch the money. Funds sit in a segregated trust account. After 48 hours of silence post-delivery-mark, the deal auto-releases — but you can raise a dispute any time before that, and funds freeze.
Does the other person need a WhatsApp Business account?
No. They just need WhatsApp. They get a template message from our number, tap Accept or Cancel, and they're in.
Which networks work? I'm on HaloPesa.
M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Mixx by Yas, HaloPesa, T-Pesa — plus Visa and Mastercard via secure card checkout. The bot detects your network from your phone number.
Can I see the money sitting in escrow?
Yes. Type 'menu' anytime, tap Check Transaction. You'll see the deal code (e.g. ELP47821) with the exact amount held and a timeline of every state change.
How much do you take?
Buyer pays a small service fee on top of the deal amount (currently 2%). Seller receives the full deal amount, untouched.
What if EscrowLipa goes down?
Funds are not held by us — they sit in a Bank of Tanzania-aligned trust account with a licensed payments partner (Snippe). Even if our server is offline, the money is safe.
